Tryber Security

This gamified security awareness program developed to help organizations internally train their teams in the field of cyber security.

The Brand and User Interface

Tryber Security approached KK Design for a complete user interface redesign. Although some program functionality had been developed, they needed expert design guidance. They had a strong logo but lacked additional supporting materials.

Our process began with a discovery session, where we thoroughly reviewed the existing development environment, functionality requirements, navigation needs, device usage, and future program goals. We also discussed integrating gamification elements such as teams, competition, score-keeping, milestones, and incentives.

From this, we crafted a detailed sitemap outlining the necessary pages and user roles. Mapping out how various users would flow through the program helped shape our needs. We then created a wireframe to position key elements, focusing on refining the program’s user experience. Key improvements included consistent navigation for lessons, policies, account management, and admin-only tasks. We also designed a low-fidelity dashboard wireframe featuring personal and team scores, pertinant tasks, lessons, and a leaderboard, along with personalization options like profile image and company logo uploads. Recognizing the importance of device versatility, we produced wireframes for XL desktop, laptop, tablet, and mobile sizes.

With the dashboard wireframe approved, our design team expanded the brand into an accessible palette, offering primary and horizontal logo versions in both dark and light modes. We refined the color palette, created custom textures and icons for the game’s categories, and finalized additional elements such as link styles, buttons, and typography. The approved design palette was applied to the wireframe to create the finalized UI design. These assets were then delivered to the Tryber development team, ensuring a cohesive and engaging user experience.
